Gun Trust & NFA Fingerprinting Near Fairfield, OH
ATF NFA applications (suppressors, short-barrel rifles, machine guns) require FD-258 fingerprint cards submitted with ATF Form 1 or Form 4. Individuals and gun trust responsible persons must each submit separate FD-258 cards. This is different from the NICS check at your FFL dealer for a standard handgun purchase. We print FD-258 ink cards for ATF NFA applications at our Fairfield-area office and make sure every card is clean enough to pass ATF standards.

Firearms & Gun Trust Fingerprinting for Fairfield Residents
Fairfield is located in Butler County (Cincinnati Metro). We process firearms & gun trust fingerprinting for residents and employers throughout Butler County and surrounding areas, with walk-in availability seven days a week.
Who Needs Firearms & Gun Trust Fingerprinting?
NFA item purchasers (suppressors, SBR, SBS, full-auto)
Gun trust responsible persons completing ATF forms
Individuals making NFA items (Form 1)
Class 3 SOT dealers adding dealer samples
Legal Requirements
ATF Form 1 (making NFA items) and Form 4 (transferring NFA items) require FD-258 fingerprint cards for individuals. For gun trusts, each "responsible person" (trustees and settlors) must submit their own FD-258 cards plus a Responsible Person Form (ATF 5320.23). NFA processing times through the ATF eFile system vary from weeks to months. NICS background checks for standard firearm purchases are a separate, instant check done at licensed FFL dealers — not at fingerprinting providers.
What to Expect
Bring blank FD-258 cards (available at ATF-approved stationery or print from ATF website), or we can supply them. We roll ink prints on the FD-258 cards. ATF requires clean, clear impressions — we inspect all 10 fingers before you leave. Cards are returned to you to submit with your ATF form.
Turnaround
Cards ready immediately. ATF processing (your responsibility): varies by form and ATF queue.
Cost
FD-258 ink cards (2-card set): $50. Each additional set: $20.

Frequently Asked Questions
I'm buying a suppressor through a gun trust with 3 trustees. How many cards do we need?
Each responsible person needs their own complete set of FD-258 cards (2 cards per person, typically). For 3 trustees: you need 3 separate sets (6 cards total), plus the ATF 5320.23 form for each person.
Can I buy a regular handgun here without going to a gun store?
No. Standard firearm purchases require a NICS check done by an FFL dealer at point of sale. We only handle NFA-related fingerprint cards — not retail firearm transfers.
How far is your office from Fairfield?
Our office at 3185 Morse Rd, Columbus is approximately 100 miles from Fairfield — typically a 120-minute drive depending on traffic. Most Cincinnati Metro clients combine the trip with errands in Columbus. Walk in any day Monday through Sunday, 9am to 7pm.
Can Fairfield residents walk in without an appointment?
Yes. We accept walk-ins every day of the week, 9am to 7pm. Fairfield clients regularly drop in on lunch breaks, after work, or on weekends. The fingerprinting itself takes 15–20 minutes.
