ORC 4735.07(A)(9) requires applicants for a real estate salesperson or broker license to submit to a criminal records check via BCI and FBI. The Ohio Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing (ODREPL) reviews results. Disqualifying offenses include fraud, theft by deception, money laundering, mortgage fraud, and felonies in the 5 years preceding the application. The Division has discretion on older offenses.
