Did my child automatically become a U.S. citizen when I naturalized?+
Under the Child Citizenship Act of 2000, a child automatically becomes a U.S. citizen when: (1) at least one parent is a U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization; (2) the child is a lawful permanent resident; and (3) the child is under 18 and residing in the U.S. in the legal and physical custody of the citizen parent.
